AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) -- Auburn Hills Police are working to identify two people allegedly responsible for a smash-and-grab at robbery Great Lakes Crossing.


This happened Monday at around 7:30 p.m., according to police, at the Helzberg Diamond Outlet store in the mall.

Investigators said two men used hammers to smash jewelry displays and steal jewelry before fleeing.

Video evidence and eyewitnesses describe the two suspects as being Black males, 18 to 25 years old, ith similar heights of approximately 5’8”, and thin builds.

The first suspect was wearing a dark-colored thin coat, white shirt, light-colored blue jeans, and dark-colored shoes. The second suspect was wearing a light gray hoodie, orange shorts, and white shoes, and was carrying a camouflage backpack.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who can ID the suspect, is asked to contact the Auburn Hills Police Department at 248-370-9444.

This incident happened just a couple of days after a deadly shooting at the mall. As of Tuesday, no charges had been filed in the shooting case.
