WANTED: Suspect who stabbed a man during fight at west side Detroit gas station [PHOTO]

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police are hoping that someone in the public can help investigators identify a suspect wanted in a stabbing at a gas station.

The incident happened shortly before 8 p.m. on Friday, June 30, in the 3400 block of Fenkell, just south of the Lodge Freeway on the city's west side.


Inside the business, police said the suspect was involved in "an altercation" with the victim, a 44-year-old man. During that altercation, police said the suspect stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene on foot.

The victim was injured, but survived the stabbing.

The suspect is described as a bald male in his 40s or 50s, 5'6" to 5'8," He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, khaki shorts and white and blue shoes, carrying a dark-colored bookbag.

Police did not say what promoted the fight between the two men.
