ANN ARBOR (WWJ) -- Police are searching for a man who allegedly hit another man with a metal pipe, Thursday night in Ann Arbor, sending him to the hospital.
The Ann Arbor Police Department is asking for tips from the public to identify this suspect in what investigators called a "random, unprovoked assault" at the Wolverine State Brewing Company, on W. Stadium Street.
According to police, the victim did not know the suspect — seen in a surveillance image released by the AAPD on Friday — and it's unclear why the suspect attacked.
Police said the two men didn't say anything to each other before the assault, just after 10 p.m.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries to his back, police said, and the suspect fled the scene on foot.

He is described as a white male, around 25 to 30 years old, with thin build and short to medium black hair. He was wearing glasses.
