WARREN (WWJ) -- A Warren man has been arraigned on multiple charges, including Assault with Intent to Murder, following a shooting incident at his apartment.
Warren Police responded to a domestic violence call at the apartment of 53-year-old Eddie Clark. Officers heard someone inside the apartment allegedly said "Y'all ready?" after the officers knocked. Clark reportedly opened the door and pointed an AK47-style rifle at police.
Police fired their weapons into the apartment and left the area before Clark eventually surrendered. The victim that called police wasn't hurt. Clark was arraigned on six counts, which included five felony firearm charges. His bond is set at $1 million cash/surety.
Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido stated, “Domestic violence incidents represent some of the most dangerous and unpredictable calls our law enforcement officers respond to. These situations often unfold in moments of extreme emotion and volatility, and the presence of firearms only heightens the risk to victims, officers, and the entire community. Our law enforcement partners face these dangers with courage and professionalism every day, and they deserve our full support. My office remains steadfast in our commitment to uphold law and order, hold offenders accountable, and ensure that every member of our community can live in safety and peace.”
Clark is due in court for a Probable Cause Conference on November 13.
