WARREN (WWJ) -- Following an undercover operation by Warren Police, three women have been charged with running a brothel out of a Metro Detroit massage parlor.

According to Warren PD, the department received multiple tips about a suspiciously large number of men patronizing Greenday Massage on 9 Mile, suggesting the presence of a prostitution ring.

On Tuesday, November 22, two undercover officers made appointments at the parlor using an online booking system.

They allege that, upon arriving for their appointments, they were offered sexual favors in exchange for money.

“Warren Police did a great job of investigating this tip in a swift manner. These types of places do not belong in our community,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido.

The three defendants -- Meiya Xu and Yingshu Zhu, both from Flushing, New York, and Hyeyen Bratek of Roseville -- were charged and formally arraigned on Wednesday, November 23.

All three are accused of operating a brothel, which is a five-year felony, and prostitution, a 90-day misdemeanor.

Xu and Bratek also face one count each of committing a felony using a computer, which carries a seven-year sentence.

Bond was set at $10,000 for Xu and Bratek, who mush surrender their passports and wear GPS tethers if released. Zhu's bond is $5,000, and she is only required to hand over her passport.

A probable cause hearing is set for the morning of Tuesday, December 6, with a preliminary exam scheduled for the following week.
