Video of Senator Mitt Romney being accosted by a group of Trump supporters in the Salt Lake City International Airport, has gone viral.
Romney, the GOP presidential candidate in 2012 has been the target of Trump’s supporters for his objection to the president’s false claims that the 2020 election was rigged.
“Traitor! Traitor! Traitor!” the supporters can be heard chanting for at least 20 seconds.
According to The Washington Post, Romney was first heckled by a maskless woman inside the airport, at which point he told her to cover her face as it was legally mandated.
“Don’t tell me what to do,” the woman told Romney. But after acquiescing, she asked him, “Why aren’t you supporting President Trump?”
“I do support President Trump in things I agree with,” responded Romney, who remained calm throughout the encounter.
Once Romney boarded his Delta Air Lines flight, the heckling continued
“You don’t listen to your constituents!” a woman shouted. “We want to know your connection to Burisma and Joe Biden, Mitt Romney,” another woman shouted, referring to the Ukrainian gas company whose board Hunter Biden was paid to serve on.
