Hazardous roads, more snow coming with Winter Weather Advisory in effect for portion of Metro Detroit into Friday
(WWJ) The roads were quite the mess in Metro Detroit on Thursday, and it's not over yet with some more snow on the way before the weekend.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory, in effect for Wayne, Lenawee and Monroe Counties from 10 p.m. Thursday until 1 p.m. Friday.
Drivers across Southwest Michigan should plan for slick road conditions that could become hazardous during the Friday morning commute, with rapid reductions in visibility also a concern.

Speaking live on WWJ Thursday evening, AccuWeather Meteorologist Brian Thompson said most Metro Detroit communities will get a couple more inches of snow accumulation by the time this all winds down on Friday.
"We do expect a general 1 to 3 inches of snow across the area, so expect slow and slippery travel," Thompson added.
With a high of only 22 degrees on Friday, Thompson said there another snow shower is possible Friday evening.
For the weekend, Thompson said Metro Detroit is looking at more frigid air, with a high of 19 degrees on Saturday that will feel more like 0 degrees with the wind chill. "We could have some blowing snow at times on Saturday that could continue to cause some travel problems," he noted.
Sunday will be another chilly one, with a high of 25. Looking ahead to Monday. Thompson said temps will rise into the 30s when Metro Detroit is looking at some sleet and freezing rain that could switch over to plain rain Monday night into Tuesday, when the high is 38.
