WEST BLOOMFIELD (WWJ) West Bloomfield Police are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery at a local home.
Police said it happened at a home on Timberview Trail, in the area of 14 Mile and Farmington, on Saturday, February 21 around 7:00 p.m.
According to authorities, a man bought high-end jewelry from a store and drove directly to an acquaintance's house. He pulled into the driveway where the suspect approached him at gunpoint. West Bloomfield Police described the suspect as a "tall, slender man" dressed "head to toe" in black clothing, including a mask and gloves.
He pointed a pistol at the victim, police said.
Police told WWJ the suspect addressed the victim by his first name. He demanded the jewelry the victim had just purchased and his wallet. After the victim complied, the suspect allegedly ran south "through the neighborhood" with "all of the victim's belongings."
Preliminary investigation indicates this was "targeted" and "not random." No one was injured, according to police.
West Bloomfield Police are asking anyone with relevant information or home security camera videos to call its Investigations Bureau at (248) 975-8920.
