KALAMAZOO (WWJ) A Kalamazoo hospital went under lockdown for about four hours when a man came in for treatment for a gunshot wound.
Bronson Methodist Hospital locked down around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday morning after the man, 25, showed up at the hospital alone; according to Kalamazoo’s local TV News affiliate, WWMT-TV.
Bronson Hospital’s emergency preparedness plan is to lock down to control access to the facility when a crime victim comes in for help.
Police told WWMT-TV they found a vehicle of interest driving nearby and conducted a traffic stop.
Officers found two loaded guns and a taser inside the car, according to mLive.
They arrested the woman driving, 26, on multiple felony weapon offenses. It’s unclear how or if she’s connected to the man—whom prosecutors are also pursuing charges against.
Many questions still plague the investigation. Neither the man nor woman has been identified nor is it clear if others are involved in the crime. Police have not determined who shot the man.
The man is in stable condition, according to both sources, and is expected to survive. The lockdown was lifted around 4 a.m. Wednesday morning.
