What’s driving the drastic rise in the number of kids and young adults who are using antidepressants?

There has been a sharp increase in the number of antidepressants prescribed to young people since 2020.

(WWJ) — The number of people aged 12-25 using antidepressants was already growing before the onset of the pandemic. But since March of 2020, the antidepressant dispensing rate rose nearly 64% faster, according to a recent study published by the University of Michigan.

And that number sits at a staggering 130% in young women aged 12-17, according to the student.
