
(WWJ) — The Great Lakes fish population was once dominated by the sturgeon. Then, they were nearly fished out of existence. But thanks to massive conservation efforts in Michigan over the years, the sturgeon population is making a resurgence.
Despite those efforts by sportsmen and wildlife experts, the federal government now wants to get involved, weighing the possibility of placing sturgeon on the endangered species list and instituting a fishing ban.
