WATERFORD (WWJ) A mother and her infant son drowned in a bathtub at a Waterford apartment, police said.
Police said the drowning happened on Friday, July 31, around 10:30 p.m. at the Whispering Woods Apartment Complex in the area of Cooley Lake and Hospital roads.
Police and fire crews found the 36-year-old woman and her 2-month-old unresponsive in the bathtub.
First responders started life-saving measures and rushed them to two separate hospitals, where they were pronounced dead.
The Oakland County Medical Examiner, after performing an autopsy, confirmed the cause of death as drowning.
Investigators are awaiting toxicology reports.
