(WWJ) A 24-year-old woman is behind bars after police say she threatened a shooting at the David Pressley School of Cosmetology in Royal Oak.
Royal Oak police responded just before 10 a.m. Tuesday to a complaint at the school, on S. Washington Ave., north of I-696.
Officers spoke with the school's director who said a student who was expelled due to bad behavior director, sent group text to the director and several other students in which she threatened to "shoot up" the school.
One of the texts included a picture of a gun, according to police.
It's alleged that the suspect, Ariel Simontee Moore, then called the business several times and made more threats. The threats were treated as credible by the staff and they cancelled classes for the next couple of days out of fear, police said.
The Criminal Investigations Division began investigating and found Moore at a relative's house.
She was arrested for the threats and also had a warrant for her arrest for Felony ID Theft out of 36th District Court, police said.
No one was hurt.
Moore, a Detroit resident, was arraigned in 44th District Court Thursday on one count of False Report or Threat of Terrorism, a felony which carries a penalty of 20 years in prison and fines up to $20,000.
Bond was set at $20,000 cash/surety or 10%. Moore's next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 30,
