TEXAS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WWJ) - Authorities said the driver involved in a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning has died after her vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree,

The driver, a 56-year-old woman from Schoolcraft as reported by mLive, was traveling down 8th Street near S Avenue in Kalamazoo County around 7 a.m. when for an "unknown reason," she veered off the road, Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Authorities said the vehicle crashed into a tree and the woman died of her injures.

First responders pronounced her dead at the scene. Officials said no other vehicles were involved in the crash and the woman was the sole occupant in her vehicle.

It is unclear if drugs or alcohol her factors in the crash, officials said, and the incident remains under police investigation.
