EASTPOINTE (WWJ) A dispute between coworkers at an Eastpointe McDonald's leads to a deadly stabbing.

Eastpointe Police said they were dispatched to a McDonald's at 9 Mile and Kelly Road to investigate a stabbing and "a shot fired" complaint on Thursday, July 10, at 7:55 a.m.

Their investigation revealed an argument broke out between two female employees, 26 and 39. The 26-year-old was sent home. According to police, the 26-year-old returned to the fast food restaurant with a knife and stabbed the 39-year-old victim multiple times.

A customer attempted to stop the attack by firing a single shot. No one was struck. Authorities told WWJ the customer was a CPL holder.

Police said the suspect attempted to flee the scene, but witnesses detained her until officers arrived and took her into custody.

The victim was rushed to a local hospital where she passed away. Her name was not released.
