(WWJ) Ann Arbor police have made an arrested in the deadly shooting of a 17-year old Sunday afternoon.

Police say a young woman, identified Monday as Chikylah Richardson, was shot to death inside an apartment on Pear Street around 1:20 p.m. The suspect ran away before officers arrived, but was arrested Monday.

A gun believed to be used by the suspect was found by police dogs searching the area.

Police say the shooting appears to be "an isolated, targeted incident," although they didn't release any more information.

Police say the case remains an active investigation, and the case will be submitted to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

The shooting was reported hours after a dog was shot and killed after its homeowner confronted a suspected attempting to break into a vehicle at a home on the 1800 block of Weldon.

"We will not tolerate this violence and are devoting every available resource to identify and apprehend the suspects in both separate cases," Ann Arbor Police Chief Andre Anderson said in a statement.  "Anyone with information is urged to contact us. Protecting this community is our highest priority, and we will continue to keep residents informed."
