A criminal investigation is underway after a woman was found dead in a house fire in Roseville.
The woman's home erupted in flames yesterday morning at Leslie's Mobile Home Village on Gratiot and 10 Mile Road in Roseville.
Investigators have not revealed the cause of the blaze or the woman's identity, but they did say they are looking for a man who lived at the home.
The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms is also investigating.
"I woke up this morning around 10:15 and I smelled smoke," neighbor Karl Ali told FOX 2. "I noticed her car was still there. I was hoping she was gone, but later found out she was in there when the fire went up."
Investigators said the body was charred beyond recognition.
"We are assuming it was a female, but the body was badly burned," said Roseville Police Chief Ryan Monroe. "We are going to rely on the medical examiner to identify the body and give us more details."
