(WWJ) Dearborn Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed a deadly crash involving a pedestrian over the weekend.
At around 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27, officers responded to the area of Greenfield Rd., south of Ford Rd., on a report that a pedestrian had been hit by a car.
The pedestrian, identified as a 67-year-old woman, was crossing Greenfield Rd. when she was struck by a southbound traveling vehicle driven by a 20-year-old man.
The crash is still under investigation, but at this time alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash, police said.
As police work to piece together how it happened, they're asking any witnesses who observed this incident call the Dearborn Police Department's Accident Investigation Bureau at 313-943-2246.
Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad added, in a statement, "The Dearborn Police Department offers its sincere condolences to the victim's family. This is a terrible tragedy."
