
DETROIT (WWJ) -- A woman is dead after police say she was run over by a car after an argument on the city's east side.
According to Detroit Police investigators, the incident happened at around 2 a.m. Thursday the area of Connor and Harper.
Police said two women in an SUV were arguing with the third woman, who was on foot, before the driver took off and hit the victim.
The victim, whose name has not been released, died of her injuries.
Christopher Anderson. who works at the gas station on the corner, said he ran over when he heard someone screaming.
"I tried to do what I could do, most definitely," he told told WWJ Newsradio 950's Charlie Langton. "And DPD, shoutout to DPD, because they arrived quickly; they sure did. They did, but it's a sad situation."
"Like I said...we lost another one of our Black queens this morning," Anderson said.
The driver has been arrested, police said.
No details were released about how the women involved knew each other, or what they were arguing about. The investigation is ongoing.
