CLINTON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) A Clinton Township woman died in a pedestrian crash.
In a press release; Clinton Township Police said the victim, 42, was walking across Metro Parkway in the crosswalk when the driver of a Kia Sportage was in the eastbound left lane. The Kia struck her. It happened just past Gratiot on Wednesday (8/21) around 4:30 a.m.
"The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation," police said in the release.
Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol are factors.
The crash occurred in an area with a posted speed limit of 55 miles per hour and a total of three lanes.
The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but passed away from her injuries, according to police.
Her name is being withheld. Her family has been notified.
