ALLEN PARK (WWJ) -- Allen Park police are trying to wrangle in a thief who stole a bike from a 13-year-old boy.
According to a detective with the Allen Park Police Department, Ja Thorburn, the woman rode up on a bike on July 22 at 8 p.m. in front of the L.A. Fitness off Fairlane Drive.
After viewing the young boy's unlocked bike, she took it -- and that's when the struggle to get away began.
The video, posted on the department's Facebook page, shows the woman having a hard time trying to flee with the two bikes, as she kept stumbling and falling
"It's almost like a Benny Hill theme should be posted to that video as well," said Thorburn. "The getaway is funny."
But the woman eventually figured it out and got away. Now, she's facing a misdemeanor charge and -- as Thorburn put it -- "taking a beating" on their Facebook page.
