STERLING HEIGHTS (WWJ) -- A Sterling Heights man says his small business is now destroyed after someone stole $35,000 worth of his lawn care equipment.

Ken Edwards, the owner of Blade Masters Lawn Maintenance, says he caught the suspect on his home cameras at around 4 a.m. on Monday.

The suspect was seen hotwiring the landscape truck, filling it with the equipment, attaching the trailer and then driving off.

"This is a strong family business that has been selfishly taken after years of hard work and dedication was put into it."

Edwards and his son, who both run the business, serve about 100 homes.

Edwards has started a GoFundMe page in an effort to replace the equipment, but he says that with supply shortages, he doesn't know how long it would take to get the business up and running again.

If you have any info on the whereabouts of their equipment, contact the Sterling Heights police at 586-4466-2800. If you want to donate, click HERE.
