Van Buren Township (WWJ) -- It's a happy ending for a young boy found wandering in Van Buren Township early Monday morning. Police say the boy's parents have been found nearly seven hours later.
Van Buren Twp. Police responded to the area of Belleville Road south of Tyler Road, about 30 miles southwest of Detroit, on the report of a young child found walking down the sidewalk early Monday morning. Officers found the child, but originally were not able to locate a parent or guardian around 1 a.m.
Authorities gave an update just before 8 a.m. Monday that his parents have been found.
The boy was unable to describe his home or give his address. He told officials his name is "Adrian" and has siblings named Jacob and Caleb. However, the boy wasn't able to provide his last name.
"Adrian" is a white male about three or four years old with short brown hair and brown eyes. The young boy was found wearing a white long sleeve pajama top with a baby blue collar. The pajamas have matching bottoms with a pattern of blue sea turtles, red fish and blue seahorses.
No further information is known at this time, including details on why the boy was wandering or how he made it out of his home.
