After testing the addition in several stores, Chipotle will add smoked brisket to its menu nationwide.

Seasoned with Mexican pepper sauce and a blend of spices, the new beef protein joins the menu Thursday. However, rewards program members can taste it sooner if they order through the app or website beginning Tuesday.

Chipotle cautioned that the addition is a limited-time offering despite being one of the restaurant’s top requested additions. Company chefs spent two years perfecting the recipe, the company said.

About 60 Chipotle stores in California and Ohio gave customers a preview of the brisked it describes as “smoked to perfect tenderness” last fall.

Chipotle has shown a willingness to adapt to customers’ appetites, regularly adding menu options based on feedback. For example, Chipotle added carne asada, cauliflower rice, and queso blanco to its menu after offering the items in select markets last year.

Although the chain raised its menu prices roughly 4% to counteract the effects of the pandemic, the company saw exponential growth and revenue across the board.
