2025 is expected to be a good year for job-seekers, but also a good year for employers who have been dealing with workers changing jobs frequently.
"Thank goodness that's over," said UNO business professor Mark Rosa.
Rosa says the labor market seems to be back to normal, after the "great resignation" has finally settled.
"I would call that a mess, and 99 percent of that, I think, is gone,' said Rosa. "That's what I'm hearing from other businesses."
But hiring is expected to be strong in 2025 -- a ZipRecruiter survey finds 76 percent of businesses will be hiring, and 23 percent say there will be significant expansion.
At the same time, the survey finds worker turnover is down 37 percent, and employers credit their retention efforts -- which included raises, improved benefits, and offering employees a better work-life balance.
