A deer is alive and well after an ice rescue in Prior Lake, Minnesota.

Neighbors called the Prior Lake Fire Department around 10:00 a.m. Monday morning after seeing a deer struggling on the thin ice of Pike Lake in the City of Prior Lake.

Firefighters, dressed in their ice gear, attached ropes to themselves and crawled onto the ice to rescue the deer.

They were able to push the buck along the thin ice to the shoreline. The deer, tired from the ordeal, rested along the shore.

The deer firearms season just wrapped up Sunday in Minnesota. The buck made it through that. Now it seems it will survive the thin ice as well.
