A 31-year-old woman who was employed as a school cafeteria worker in Connecticut has been charged with sexual assault regarding her alleged contact with a minor. She is due in court later this month.
Andie Rosafort turned herself in Feb. 20 and she was arraigned March 1, pleading not guilty to all charges. These include second-degree sexual assault, enticing a minor by computer and risk of injury to a minor.
According to the Connecticut State Police, the New Fairfield Police Department was contacted by school administrators at New Fairfield High School Jan. 17 “regarding possible inappropriate contact between an employee of the school system and a juvenile student.”
Through a Major Crime Detectives investigation, Rosafort was identified as the suspect. Fox News reported that she is married and that the victim is 14 years old.
Authorities said that a parent of one of the victim’s friends told investigators that their child attended a gathering in January and learned that the victim left to meet up with Rosafort and came back “behaving oddly” after seeing her. Per that interview, the encounter was believed to be sexual in nature.
“According to the victim, they were exchanging messages with Rosafort while attending a gathering at a friend’s home, on Friday, January 13, 2023, when Rosafort asked the victim to meet with her,” said police. “The victim further explained that Rosafort asked for the address of the victim’s location and allegedly drove to pick up the victim, arriving in an SUV style vehicle. The victim further alleged that Rosafort drove a short distance away and had contact of a sexual nature with them, inside of the SUV. According to the victim, they felt uncomfortable, exited the SUV, and immediately returned to the gathering at their friend’s house.”
Another juvenile who was at the event said they were helping the victim block Rosafort on a social media application and saw some of the messages. NBC Connecticut said that the juvenile and school employee were communicating via SnapChat.
“In one of the messages described to investigators, Rosafort allegedly asked the victim if their friends knew where the victim was,” said police.
The juvenile victim said that they communicated through private social media messages for months. These allegedly included unsolicited sexually explicit images and videos of Rosafort. The victim also alleged that Rosafort would send messages requesting images of them.
When detectives examined the victim’s cell phone, they “discovered several screen recordings of videos on a social media platform containing explicit content and depicting an individual identified by investigators as Rosafort,” and “found photos and videos consistent in appearance with those described by the victim,” on her phone.
A warrant for Rosafort’s arrest was granted Feb. 17 and she turned herself in three days slater. She was released on $100,000 bond.
According to Fox News, she arraigned in Danbury Superior Court March 1 and pleaded not guilty to all charges. NBC Connecticut reported that she is due back in court March 23.
“School Superintendent Ken Craw said that Rosafort was no longer employed by the school district as of Jan. 18,” said the outlet.
