It happened on Sunday around 5:50 p.m. in Midtown, near Interstate 64 and Market Street, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The 32-year-old victim says the female passenger ordered him to pull over and claimed she had a gun, police say.

According to a summary from police, she reached up from the back seat and threw the driver's phone out the window, then tried to take his car keys. Then she bit part of his ear off, police say.

He was then pushed out of his car and the woman jumped into the driver's seat and sped away. A short while later, the stolen vehicle was found after being involved in a crash downtown near Interstate 44 and Walnut Street.

The suspect, who police believe is a 39-year-old woman, has not been captured.

The victim was treated at a local hospital for his ear injury.
