(WWJ) An act of kindness for restaurant workers is dropping jaws and warming hearts in the Grand Rapids area.
Restaurant owner, Chef Jenna Arcidiacono, has been handing out tips to restaurant workers, who are struggling since Governor Gretchen Whitmer closed indoor dining in November for more than two months.
She started raising money on Venmo. She has given a total of $7,000 since the beginning of last month.
In January, she stopped by Bridge Street Burger Shack in Rockford, about 15 miles north of Grand Rapids, and stuffed the tip jar with $100.
Inspired by a Tiktok video, she hands out no less than $1,000 at a time. You can see the employee’s joyous reactions here.
Known for her pink hair and her generosity, Chef Jenna owns Amore Trattoria Italiana in Comstock Park.
She knows the toll the pandemic has taken on the restaurant industry, and said she wanted to give back.
“It’s the best. Like, I literally have a buzz for a week, until the next one,” Arcidiacono told MLive. “It’s a fun, happy feeling to surprise someone.”
