Could Julian Edelman be following his BFF out of retirement?

Tom Brady shared a well-edited video Monday of himself playing catch with one of his all-time favorite targets. The 30-second clip shows Edelman catching passes over the middle of the field, and we must say, he looks pretty good.

Brady appeared to be satisfied with Edelman’s performance, too, flashing a smile towards the camera after a completed pitch-and-catch.

As distinguished content creators, Brady and Edelman surely knew their filmed workout would get people talking. Edelman played into the hype with a quote-tweet that could prompt people to speculate about his return.

“How’s the knee look?,” he wrote.

Brady announced his comeback March 13, just 40 days after initially calling it quits. There’s little question Brady can still play: he led the league in passing yards and touchdowns last season.

Edelman, however, returned under more usual circumstances. The 12-year vet spent the final months of his NFL career on the injury list due to knee surgery.

Last year, Edelman batted down speculation about coming out of retirement to join Brady in Tampa Bay. “I’m a one-team guy,” he said last June.

But maybe Edelman has changed his mind. Rob Gronkowski certainly seems to be gearing up for another season with Brady.

All Edelman would need to join the party is an invite to camp -- and a healthy knee.
