The networks keep loving the Lions.
The Lions' Week 15 game against the Broncos has been flexed from Sunday to Saturday Dec. 16 with an 8:15 kick-off on the NFL Network. It will also air locally on Fox 2.
It will mark Detroit's fourth national TV game this season, with a fifth set for Week 17 in Dallas, another Saturday night kick. The Lions only had one nationally televised game scheduled at the start of last season, their annual Thanksgiving showcase.
Currently holding a 2.5-game lead in the NFC North, the Lions could be in a clinching scenario by Week 16. A win over the Broncos could mean Detroit's first division title in 30 years, or at least its first playoff berth in seven years.
The game will also feature a resurgent Broncos team, winners of five straight. Their head coach, Sean Payton, was one of Dan Campbell's mentors when Payton was head coach of the Saints and Campbell was an assistant.
When the Broncos struggled to start this season, including a 70-20 loss to the Dolphins, Campbell said that Payton would straighten things out. Now that he has, the two coaches will meet under the primetime lights in Detroit.
