Frank Ragnow suffered a partially torn pec early in the Lions' Week 3 win over the Cardinals, played every snap, and hasn't been ruled out for their Week 4 game against the Seahawks.
After Ragnow was reported as "week to week" Monday night, Dan Campbell said Tuesday morning on 97.1 The Ticket that Ragnow could play next Monday depending on his recovery this week.
"First of all, Frank is stubborn," Campbell said. "He’s hard-headed Frank. He’s tough, he’s stubborn, so he wants to go. He always wants to go. But this is something we’re still talking about right now, not entirely sure what we’re going to do with him. A lot of is, where is he going to feel by the middle or end of the week?"
The Lions have their bye after the Seahawks game, which would give Ragnow an additional week of rest before their following game against the Cowboys. If they were to place their Pro Bowl center on injured reserve this week, he would be out until at least Detroit's Week 8 game against the Titans.
Regarding the injury, Campbell confirmed that Ragnow "does have something in there and did play through some of this last week."
"So we’ll do what’s best for him and best for us in the moment, ultimately," he said. "But you know how I feel about Frank, we all do, appreciate the heck out of him. He’s tough, man."
Ragnow, 28, has played through numerous injuries in the NFL, most notably a fractured throat in 2020. He's also battled a chronic toe injury since 2021, on top of knee and back issues last season.
If Ragnow does miss time, the Lions will likely slide guard Graham Glasgow to center, as they did when Ragnow missed time last season. Glasgow has the experience at the position to handle the job.
