Two picks for Lions at No. 28 that "would make you blow a gasket"

Is there a player the Lions could draft at No. 28 tonight that would make you blow a gasket? Jansen and Costa give their candidates.

For Jansen, it's Iowa State WR Jayden Higgins -- who was mocked to the Lions by The Detroit News. Jansen says that if the Lions take Higgins at 28, "especially if Will Johnson is there, if Kenneth Grant is there, if Grey Zabel is there, I will lose my stuff. Absolutely lose it. No one has this guy going in the first round."

"And I’ll be honest: I haven’t watched every snap of Jayden Higgins’ career, but there’s nothing that jumps off of what I have seen that says he’s a first-round talent — and a first-round talent that the Lions need this year."

For Costa, it's Michigan CB Will Johnson -- who was mocked to the Lions by Peter Schrager.

While Costa says that Johnson "has size and the ability to play man coverage, which fits the Lions, and would only be falling because of injuries, which feels like a Brad Holmes thing — look for value, taking a corner would just feel odd after doubling up on corner a year ago with Terrion Arnold, who you traded up to get, and Ennis Rakestraw, and after making your only high-profile free agent move at corner."

"I think drafting your millionth corner when you have Marcus freaking Davenport as a pass-rusher and starting defensive end, yeah, I’ll blow a gasket right now, that would be ridiculous! I get it — you don’t draft for need. But you can only play 11 guys! Unless they’re changing that rule or you’re exclusively playing dime defense, you do have to hit edge at some point."
