DraftKings Marketplace made its launch on Tuesday, announcing it will be selling NFTs from some athletes you might have heard of. This new “digital collectibles ecosystem” from DraftKings is now live and is set to drop its Preseason Access Collection this week, starting with Tom Brady NFTs.
In a press release regarding this announcement, DraftKings said the content of this release will be provided by Autograph and will include Preseason Access Passes from athletes including Brady, Wayne Gretzky, Tony Hawk, Tiger Woods, and Derek Jeter. These NFTs will drop on Wednesday and will be available exclusively on Autograph.io and on DraftKings Marketplace.
"Autograph’s Advisory Board includes some of the most iconic athletes ever, and we could not imagine a more fitting figure than Tom Brady to headline our first ever NFT drop on DraftKings Marketplace,” DraftKings co-founder and president, Matt Kalish, said in the press release. “The overall NFT market has already surged to over $2.5 billion in sales volume for the first half of 2021, and so whether someone is well-versed or barely familiar with digital collectibles, we envision DraftKings Marketplace being a premier platform for all within a trend that is decidedly here to stay.”
The Premier editions of the Brady, who is an Autograph co-founder, NFTs will drop throughout the day on August 11 and will be followed by Signature editions, which are set to drop on August 13. Gretzky will then be the next drop within the Preseason Access Collection.
“NFTs bring an entirely new dimension to the collector experience, and I cannot wait for people to discover and engage with this first ever drop of Autograph’s official digital collectibles,” said Brady in the press release. “We created Autograph as a way for fans and collectors to own a piece of iconic moments in sports and entertainment through authenticated and official digital collectibles and we are just getting started!”
Those with a DraftKings account can now access DraftKings Marketplace on desktop or mobile on the DraftKings website or through its apps.
