DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Emmitt Smith, the NFL's all-time leading rusher and Cowboys great, says he's rooting for Tom Brady in Super Bowl LV.

As for why he's rooting for Brady over East Texas native Patrick Mahomes? It's simple. Greatness is rooting for greatness.

"He's the GOAT, man. There's no question about it. He's the greatest of all time at that position," Smith said Thursday on Shan and RJ on 105.3 The Fan. All of the naysayers talking about (how Brady's success is due to) Belichick's system, it's the Patriot way. No, this is a clear testament, and what people are looking at is God's perfection right in front of their eyes and they're not appreciating it."

Brady already has six Super Bowls and he's attempting to capture his seventh this Sunday at the age of 43, but Smith says his age has nothing to do with it.

"Forget the age, it ain't got nothing to do with age. I'm telling you, this is God's gift to man. And man does not appreciate it until it's gone. His gift back to us is His performance over the last 20 years. But God's gift to him is to perform in front of you guys and do it the way he has done it for the last God knows how many years."
