DETROIT — Lions fans finally got a glimpse of the Jahmyr Gibbs they’ve been waiting to see as he had a career night in the Lions' 26-14 win over the Raiders on Monday Night Football.

Gibbs carried the ball 26 times for career-high 152 yards and caught all five targets that went his way for 37 yards.

A raucous Ford Field was starting to feel a little on-edge in the third quarter after Jared Goff threw a pick-six to Marcus Peters that cut Detroit’s lead to 16-14.

On the next drive, the Lions methodically moved the ball down the field to the tune of 72 yards and five first downs, only to lose it again on a Craig Reynolds fumble at the 3-yard-line. The play was upheld after review.

That uneasy feeling went away after the Lions forced a three-and-out and Gibbs punched it in from 27 yards out and jumped into the stands behind the end zone, extending the lead back to two possessions.

The defense — and the crowd — took over from there, sacking Jimmy Garoppolo four times on the next two drives, courtesy of Alex Anzalone and Alim McNeill with two each.

Goff finished with 272 yards on 26-of-37 passing, hitting seven different receivers, including Amon-Ra St. Brown, who broke 100 yards for the fifth time in six outings.

Sam LaPorta caught Goff’s lone touchdown pass of the night, finishing with 57 yards on eight catches.

The Lions head into the bye week 6-2, sitting in first place in the NFC North, two games ahead of the Vikings and in possession of the NFC’s No. 2 seed.
