Mel Tucker promised "swift and appropriate action" after a group of Michigan State players allegedly assaulted two Michigan players in the tunnel at the Big House following the Wolverines' 29-7 win over the Spartans Saturday night.
Tucker followed through Sunday night by suspending four players who were seen in separate videos attacking Michigan's Ja'Den McBurrows and Gemon Green:
- Sophomore linebacker Tank Brown
- Junior safety Angelo Grose
- Freshman defensive end Zion Young
- Sophomore cornerback Khary Crump
Tucker said the suspensions are effective immediately and that Michigan State is still working with Michigan, the Big Ten and law enforcement to "further evaluate the events in Ann Arbor."
"You have my promise that we are committed to fairness, transparency and accountability, and that we will continue to take appropriate action in this matter," Tucker said in a statement. "Our core value and the responsibility that comes with wearing a State green and white jersey must never be compromised."
