Say what you want about his defense or his athleticism or his fit in the NBA, but Luka Garza was too good to not get a shot.

He'll be taking it in Detroit.

The Pistons drafted Garza No. 52 overall in Thursday night's draft. The 6'11 forward was the unanimous national player of the year last season at Iowa.

Garza averaged 24.1 points and 8.7 rebounds and shot 44 percent from three as a senior. It's his three-point stroke, inside a big-man's body, that gives him a chance to succeed in the NBA.

The Pistons closed out the draft by taking 7'1 Florida State center Balsa Koprivica No. 57 overall with the pick they acquired from the Hornets in the Mason Plumlee trade.

Koprivica, who was high school teammates with No. 1 overall pick Cade Cunningham at Montverde Academy, averaged 9.1 points and 5.6 boards in his sophomore season for the Seminoles.
