The announcers’ jinx is real. Just ask Steph Curry.
As the Warriors superstar stepped to the free-throw line in the second quarter of Tuesday’s 134-105 loss to the Phoenix Suns, TNT play-by-play man Kevin Harlan noted how Steph was a perfect 23-of-23 on the season. After he rimmed out his first attempt of the campaign, Steph walked off the line, smiled and pointed at the TNT broadcast table.

Harlan’s partners Reggie Miller and Candace Parker ratted out Harlan immediately, pointing out the guilty party. A couple minutes later, Steph came over to the table for a quick laugh and promptly hit a 3-pointer.
Steph is a superstitious guy, but how he heard Harlan from the free throw line is wild. Maybe a teammate who was nearby let him know, but the whole exchange was classic Curry.
Curry is one of the game’s greatest entertainers and always puts on a show. He averaged 33.3 points per contest in the first three games of the year and looks to be in his prime in Year 14.
Last season, Curry (92.3 percent) fell just short of teammate Jordan Poole (92.5) for the free-throw crown, but Poole is 15-for-19 (78.9 percent) to begin the year, compared to Curry’s 25-of-27 (92.6 percent) mark.
After Curry missed another free throw in third quarter, Miller gave Harlan a hard time.
"It’s the snowball effect," Miller said. "Now you opened up an avalanche. He can’t make a free throw."
