The Summer of Steph keeps blazing on.
So far this offseason, we’ve seen Steph Curry make a bunch of headlines for his off-the-fields exploits – like winning a golf tourney, going on stage with Drake and dropping a two-hour documentary. For his latest move, Curry joined Sean Evans on the popular “Hot Ones” YouTube show from First We Feast.
On “Hot Ones” celebrities get interviewed by Evans while they put 10 different hot sauces on chicken wings – with each sauce getting hotter on the Scoville scale. If you make it through all 10 wings, you get to promote something at the end of the show.
Steph definitely had to tap into his competitiveness to get through the challenge but he took at least a bite of every hot sauce on the way to promoting his new “Underrated” documentary on Apple TV+.
As he got towards the end of the show, Evans asked Curry about his favorite interactions with Kobe Bryant and the stories were gems. Steph recalled the first time he ever played Kobe Bryant in a regular season game and caught his attention, and a preseason game where the late legend picked him up full court on defense. In September 2016, Kobe told ESPN that Steph and Klay Thompson were “Stone Cold Killers.”
“That is one of my favorite memories and compliments I’ve gotten in my life,” Curry told Evans. “For somebody to validate you like that – especially, he’s not giving out compliments like that. That was truly special, for sure.”
