The Dubs vs. Chuck feud has no offseason.
Charles Barkley became public enemy No. 1 in the Bay Area during the Warriors’ latest postseason run, as he was consistently showered with heckles and boos (and even T-shirts) during TNT’s live broadcasts from Chase Center during the Western Conference Finals. Barkley dug into the heel role and hammed it up as the villain while the Warriors won their fourth title in eight years.

During Thursday’s media session with reporters after the practice round at the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, Steph got a jab in to Barkley, whose swing once included a ridiculous stopping motion midway though his back swing. Ron Kroichick of the San Francisco Chronicle shared video of Barkley's improved swing on Thursday.
According to Chris Murray of Nevada Sports Net, a reporter asked Steph if he’d recommend bettors to wager on Barkley finishing in the top 70, a line which is currently available at nearby casinos.
"No," Curry said with a laugh, via Murray. "Hell, no. Clip that, send it to him, let him play it on every tee box. There's no way he's doing it."
Steph then took it a step further, according to Murray.
“As much faith as Chuck has had in the Warriors and jump-shooting teams winning championships — that's the least amount — that's the amount of faith I have in him hitting the top 70," Curry said.
Dub Nation will probably eat this up with a knife and fork. For more comments from Curry, check out Murray’s full transcript from Thursday’s press conference. Barkley is set to tee off in the final group at 10:26 a.m. PT with WWE wrestler The Miz and comedian/actor Anthony Anderson.
As for his own ambitions, Curry is seeking his first ever ACC golf title in his 10th try, as he has three top-five finishes under his belt. NBC Sports Bay Area’s Monte Poole interviewed Steph on Thursday about his laser focus for this year’s competition. He will tee off with his father, Dell, and brother, Seth, at 9:50 a.m. PT on Friday.
“I’ve been practicing,” Curry said. “Obviously playing into the Finals, golf season starts a little late. I’m all the way OK with that. But coming out here, it’s an amazing time out. Every year I look forward to it. Got my brother and my dad out here. Just enjoying the festivities. I always have high confidence, I’m a competitor by nature. I always wanna win. I feel like I have what it takes, it’s just a matter of if I can put it together. We’ll see, but I’m gonna have fun regardless.”
