Plano Police arrest a 14-year-old boy for allegedly breaking into almost 40 Hyundais and Kias.

This apparently is part of a TikTok Challenge to exploit security flaws in those two vehicles.

"The trend has been going on for about two years; it started up in Milwaukee," says Ofc. Jennifer Chapman. "And with anything like social media, it's going to become viral.

"Our teen in this area watched a few too many videos and decided that that would be a good choice for his recreational activities after school, I guess," Chapman continued.

The boy made off with some valuables and other merchandise that were left exposed.

Because of the boy's age, his name and the charges he's facing are not being released.

Ofc. Chapman is urging owners of Hyundais and Kias to address the security flaw as soon as possible.

"We encourage owners to take their vehicles to get a security update from the dealership," says Chapman.
