Tyer Bertuzzi is officially back in the fold for the Red Wings.
The All-Star winger was awarded a one-year, $3.5 million deal in arbitration, the club announced Tuesday.
It's a good deal for Detroit. Bertuzzi's camp was originally seeking $4.25 million, while the Wings were offering $3.15 million.
A second-round pick in 2013, Bertuzzi has become one of the core pieces of Detroit's rebuild. He's scored 21 goals each of the past two seasons and ranks second on the team during that span with 95 points.
He's an improving, hard-nosed player who should outperform his salary in 2020-21.
The next big item on the Red Wings' offseason is agenda is to re-sign fellow restricted free agent Anthony Mantha.
