It has been a violent Fourth of July holiday weekend in New Orleans.
Four people killed and nine others injured in gun violence between Friday night and Sunday evening.
According to the New Orleans Police Department this all happened with seven shootings across the city.
The first incident happened early Friday morning when a 35-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to the chest in the 2800 block of South Claiborne Avenue. He was taken to a hospital but later died.
Just minutes later, NOPD officers respond to a triple shooting in the 8400 block of South I-10 Service Road. A 41-year-old man was shot and died on the scene; two other victims, a man and a woman, in that shooting were taken to the hospital for their injuries.
Another triple shooting happened about 11:00 p.m. in the 500 block of North Carrollton Avenue.
According to police, in that shooting a 25-year old man was chased before being shot and the second and third victims were shot while in their car.
Saturday saw its share of gun violence when a 14-year-old boy was shot on Canal Street about 8:30 p.m. Police say the victim was fighting with “unknown suspects” when he heard gun shots and realized he was shot multiple times. EMS took him to the hospital.
Soon after, NOPD respond to a double shooting on 3100 block of St. Claude Avenue. Two juvenile girls were injured in that incident.
Later that night a 30-year-old man was shot in Central City. He was shot in the foot while walking in the 3100 block of South Saratoga Street. He went to the hospital by private car.
The violence did not stop on Sunday when a 35-year-old man was fatally shot in the neck.
Police found his body after the victim crashed his car on General De Gaulle near Westbend Blvd.

NOPD officers are also investigating a double shooting in 3100 block of St. Claude Street.
About the same time homicide detectives investigate a fatal shooting in the 7700 block of West Laverne Street.
Another shooting victim was discovered in the 3400 block of Broadway Street.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s office has not yet released the names of all of the homicide victims.
