WalMart is closing three supercenters in the New Orleans area for cleaning and restocking, The Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate reports.
The Lower Garden District store on Tchoupitoulas Street, the New Orleans East store on Bullard Avenue, and the Harahan store on Jefferson Highway are set to reopen Friday morning at 7:00 a.m.
Cleaning crews will sanitize the store and workers will restock the shelves and prepare for re-opening.
The store makes no mention of any employees testing positive for the coronavirus, but says the cleaning is being done "out of an abundance of caution" as New Orleans is one of the cities hit the hardest by the pandemic.
