It will be a hazy/dusty Friday as Saharan Dust plume has arrived in Louisiana. An air quality alert has been issued across our area.
WWL-TV’s Dave Nussbaum says, “We dry out a little today as a ridge of high pressure builds across Florida and the Saharan Dust sits over the area. This will make it hazy with poor air quality. We have a code orange, Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups, forecast today. If you have respiratory issues please limit your time outdoors and stay in the A/C. Expect a mix of sun and clouds with spotty showers and storms. Any storm could still produce heavy rain. It will be hot and humid with high temperatures in the lower 90s. Tonight will be mostly cloudy and muggy with a few sprinkles. Lows will be in the mid-70s north and around 80 south.”
⚠️Air Quality Alert today thanks to the high concentration of #SaharanDust over #NewOrleans. The dense dust will move east of us this weekend, so the air quality will not be as bad. #BeOn4 @WWLTV pic.twitter.com/7dO6VdyfPp
