Thousands of Georgia and Baylor fans have descended in New Orleans in anticipation of tonight's Sugar Bowl. Many have been in town a few days. Mark Romig, Chief Marketing Officer for New Orleans and Company says it's just about evenly matched.
Georgia has been here before and they have brought in a good number of their fan base as Baylor who has been here several years ago, but they are back and they are here, strong, and we expect it to be an evenly matched Superdome for the Sugar Bowl tonight," Romig said.
Romig is hopeful that many will stick around and make a long weekend out of it but if they don't more fans will be coming in.
"We start the year strong with the Sugar Bowl, we will also go into the College Football playoff National Championship, of course with LSU playing Clemson and there will be a lot of people to descend upon the city in the next several weeks," said Romig.
Let's not forget those Minnesota fans heading south for the matchup Sunday against the Saints.
