Aaron Dun, a convicted sex offender from Birmingham, Alabama is under arrest in New Orleans.

But the criminal odyssey of this individual reads like a Hollywood movie script.

Dun, driving a stolen car and on the lam from Birmingham, first caught the eyes of Louisiana State Patrol in LaPlace.

Following a pursuit in which he crashed his car, Dun eluded authorities by committing home invasion.

Dun’s hostages were a 93-year-old woman and her 73-year-old daughter.

The wanted man ended up forcing the 73-year-old into her car at knife point and making a getaway.

He dumped the woman, unharmed at a motel and made off with her car.

Days later he was spotted behind the wheel of a car and chased through Uptown and Gentilly.

Again, he crashed his vehicle and slipped through the hands of law enforcement.

That’s when the U.S. Marshalls got involved.

Acting on a tip, Marshalls, NOPD, Louisiana State Patrol and St. John Parish Sheriffs closed in on Dun at a CVS Pharmacy in the Seventh Ward.

They chased Dun through the area near North Dorgenois and St. Bernard Avenues.

Setting up a perimeter, and using dogs to track him, Dun was hunted down and taken into custody.

Dun’s odyssey began with his failure to register as a sex offender in Birmingham after his conviction of molesting a 9-year-old girl.

He’s now facing charges of car theft, aggravated home invasion, assaulted with a deadly weapon, flight from law enforcement, and other crimes.
