Several Florida counties can reopen vacation rentals, the Secretary of Florida's Department of Business & Professional Regulation confirmed to WCTV Tuesday afternoon.
Rentals bans had been in place as part of Florida’s plan to slow the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic
Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Gulf, Franklin and Bay County, all in the panhandle region, were given the O.K. to reopen according to State Representative Jason Shoaf.
Shoaf announced the clearances via a Facebook post Tuesday afternoon along with a message of gratitude to other Florida officials.
"A special thanks to Secretary (Halsey) Beshears and Governor (Ron) DeSantis for making it happen today," Shoaf wrote.
