In its first year of selling alcohol to general seating in Tiger Stadium, LSU will be selling both domestic and premium beer this season.
The price is eight dollars for domestic beer and nine dollars for premium beer.
Senior Associate Athletic Director Robert Munson says you won’t find folks hawking bud light up and down the aisles, but it should only be a short walk from your seat to the nearest vendor.
“It will be available at almost every concession stand," Munson said. "We have a number of stands in the student section that will not sell beer and wine. We’re going to continue to monitor foot traffic and sales throughout the season, so it could change a little bit.”
Fans will be limited to two purchases per person and you'll have to show your ID.
It's estimated that as many as 45,000 beverages could be sold per game on average. Munson asks that fans be patient.
“Tiger Stadium is unique and offers a number of challenges," Munson said. "It offers no cold storage, there’s no place to store recycling and trash. There’s all kinds of really massive logistics that we have to walk through.”
All drinks must be poured out of their cans and into plastic cups by the server.
Beer and wine will be available for Saturday’s game against Georgia Southern.
There’s a two purchase a person limit for each transaction, and IDs will be required for every transaction.
